Overview¶

Codex Alimentarius Standard CXS 242-2003 "Standard for Paprika" (formerly Codex Stan 242-2003) defines the internationally agreed-upon identity, quality, and labeling requirements for paprika traded across borders. It is referenced by the WTO SPS Agreement as the benchmark standard for food safety.

Scope¶

Applies to paprika (Capsicum annuum L.) in the following forms: - Whole dried pods - Crushed/ground paprika - Paprika powder
